Educational information, not legal advice
TicketTrap.ai is a free public research site about red-light, speed and school-zone cameras and license plate readers. Everything on it, including the citizen toolkit and the records request letters, is general educational information. It is not legal advice, and TicketTrap.ai is not a law firm.
No attorney-client relationship
Reading the site, sending us a tip, or writing to [email protected] does not create an attorney-client relationship or any other professional relationship. Do not send us confidential information on the assumption that it is protected by legal privilege.
If you have a ticket
Do not rely on this site to contest or pay a ticket. Follow the instructions on your notice and the issuing agency's official process, and meet its deadlines. For a legal question about your own situation, talk to a lawyer licensed where the ticket was issued.
Where our figures come from
Figures on the site come from public records and published reporting. Each one carries a verification label: verified, reported, unverified, disputed, disproven or unresolved. Our own calculations are labeled as estimates, with the method stated next to the number. How we count explains each label and each kind of figure.
Public records can be incomplete, late or wrong, and programs change. A figure is accurate to the source it cites, as of the date of that source.
Corrections
When we get something wrong we fix it and note the change on the page. Our editorial standards and corrections page explains how, and you can send a correction.
Links to other sites
We link to government records, laws, news reports and other sites so you can check our sources. A link is not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for the content, accuracy or practices of sites we do not run.
